Autumn Term

In our first half-term, we will become keen historians and learn all about ‘The Great Fire of London’. The children looked at the causes and effects of the great fire, and had fun discovering its lasting legacy. ​We will be visited by the 'history man' and the children will participate in our very own 'Great Fire of Red Hill'.

In the second half-term, we will become intrepid geographers looking at the driving question ‘How can we save our oceans?’. We will explore how plastic pollution impacts our oceans and how animals depend on the ocean for their habitat. ​

Maths

We will be starting our mathematical journey by looking at place value. We will be counting in 2s, 5s and 10s, ordering numbers and comparing objects. 

English

In English, we will be exploring the very exciting text 'The Disgusting Sandwich', which follows the journey of a badger attempting to eat a sandwich. Unfortunately, the sandwich is too disgusting to eat by the time he finally gets it! 

RE

In RE, we will explore the question 'Who is Jewish and how do they live?'. We will be asking theological questions such as 'who are Jewish people?' and 'where are they from?'. We will explore the fact that not all Jewish people are the same.
